Understanding the eye area

Small area. Different concerns.

What we assess

Skin quality, fine lines and crow’s feet, laxity, hollowing, pigmentation and puffiness each need their own conversation.

Outer eye areaFine lines, crow’s feet and skin texture
Under-eyeDarkness, puffiness and skin quality
Under-eye and upper cheekHollowing or volume change

The skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than skin on many other parts of the face. Over time, changes in collagen, elasticity, hydration, movement and facial support can affect how the area looks.

Fine lines, crepey-looking skin, brow-area laxity, hollowing, puffiness and dark circles can appear in the same region, but they do not necessarily share the same cause. That is why a good plan starts with the concern—not the treatment name.

Skin qualityTexture, thinness, hydration, fine lines and elasticity may point toward a skin-quality discussion.
Lifting and laxityA change in brow position or upper-face support may require an assessment for a tightening pathway.
Other causesHollowing or volume change may lead to a facial-support or dermal-filler discussion. Selected upper-eye skin, crow’s feet or texture concerns may lead to a Plamere discussion; pigmentation, puffiness or muscle movement may need another pathway.
What have you noticed

Start with your concern

01

Fine lines and crow’s feet

Lines may relate to skin quality, repeated movement or a combination of factors.

02

Crepey-looking skin

Thin, finely textured skin may need a different pathway from deeper laxity.

03

Brow-area laxity

Selected lifting or tightening treatment may be considered after anatomical assessment.

04

Under-eye hollowing

Contour or support beneath the skin requires a broader facial assessment. Dermal filler may be discussed where clinically appropriate.

05

Dark circles

Pigment, visible vessels, shadowing and anatomy can contribute in different ways.

06

Puffiness

The cause should be assessed before a cosmetic treatment is recommended.

Treatment pathways

HIFU, Rejuran, dermal filler or Plamere

These pathways address different concerns. A consultation helps identify whether HIFU, Rejuran, dermal filler, Plamere, a staged plan or another approach may be suitable for your eye-area concern.

Lifting and tightening pathway

Ultraformer MPT HIFU

Ultraformer MPT HIFU uses focused ultrasound at selected depths beneath the skin surface. Your practitioner maps the eye-area concern, then selects the appropriate cartridge, depth and shot plan.

  • May be considered for selected brow, upper-face or outer-eye laxity concerns
  • Planned around the exact treatment area, skin and anatomy
  • Designed to support gradual firmness and contour as tissue responds
  • Temporary tenderness, redness or swelling may occur
Skin quality pathway

Rejuran

Rejuran is a sterile injectable gel containing sodium polynucleotide. It is placed into selected dermal areas by an appropriately trained healthcare professional after consultation.

  • May be discussed for suitable fine-line, texture and elasticity concerns
  • Delivered using multiple small intradermal injections
  • A typical initial plan may involve three sessions two to four weeks apart
  • Visible injection marks and temporary skin reactions can occur
Plasma consultation pathway

Plamere

Plamere uses a handheld device to create controlled plasma treatment points at the skin surface. It may be discussed for selected eyelid-skin and eye-area texture concerns, with treatment planned precisely around the area.

  • Selected upper-eyelid or hooded-eye skin concerns
  • Fine lines and crow’s feet around the outer eye
  • Crepey-looking skin and selected texture concerns around the eye area
  • Suitability, recovery and treatment scope confirmed after consultation

Facial support pathway

Dermal filler

Dermal filler may be one option considered as part of a broader facial assessment. Your practitioner will discuss whether it is appropriate for your individual concerns, anatomy and treatment goals during your consultation.

  • May be discussed where volume loss or facial support contributes to the concern
  • Assessment considers the under-eye, cheeks, mid-face balance, skin quality and anatomy together
  • Not every dark circle, hollow or puffy eye area is suitable for filler
  • Risks, limitations, alternatives, recovery and cost are discussed privately before any treatment

Skin quality and firmness

When Rejuran and HIFU may complement each other

When assessment identifies both skin-quality and laxity concerns, a practitioner may discuss a staged plan rather than treating every concern with one method. HIFU may be considered for selected lifting or tightening goals, while Rejuran may be discussed for selected skin-quality concerns.

Full eye rejuvenation

Support, lift and soften the eye area

When eye-area concerns overlap, a staged plan may combine the pathways that match them. For example, dermal filler may be discussed for selected support or hollowing concerns, HIFU for selected firmness goals, Rejuran for skin quality and Plamere for selected eyelid-skin, fine-line or texture concerns. Suitability, treatment order and timing are confirmed after a whole-eye-area assessment.

Recovery and timing

Planned around your skin

Recovery and timing differ between treatments. HIFU may cause temporary tenderness, redness or swelling; Rejuran and dermal filler can leave temporary injection-site marks and skin reactions; Plamere has its own surface-healing and aftercare considerations. Your practitioner will confirm the order, timing and aftercare plan after assessment.

HIFU for the eye area

A focused-ultrasound pathway for selected firmness concerns

Ultraformer MPT HIFU uses focused ultrasound at selected depths beneath the skin surface. It may be discussed for suitable brow, upper-face and outer-eye firmness, elasticity and contour concerns after assessment.

What it may support

Brow support, firmness and contour

HIFU may be considered for selected brow-area laxity, upper-face support and outer-eye firmness concerns. It is planned around the exact area, skin thickness and individual anatomy rather than applied as a one-size-fits-all eye treatment.

How HIFU works

Selected cartridge depths and a collagen response

Different cartridges may be selected at shallow and deeper focal depths, including 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm, according to the eye-area being assessed. Focused ultrasound creates controlled thermal points beneath the skin surface, supporting the body’s natural collagen and elastin response over time. Your practitioner selects the depth, coverage and shot plan after assessment.

Rejuran for the eye area

A skin-quality pathway for the delicate eye area

Rejuran is a polynucleotide injectable skin-quality treatment that may be discussed for selected fine-line, crepey-skin, texture and elasticity concerns around the eyes. Your practitioner maps the planned area and confirms whether it suits your concern.

What it may address

Texture, fine lines and skin quality

Rejuran may be considered when skin quality is the focus, including selected crepey-looking skin, fine lines and delicate eye-area texture. It is not designed to treat every cause of dark circles, puffiness or hollowing.

Planning and recovery

A treatment sequence planned around you

Rejuran is delivered through multiple small injections in the planned skin area. A typical initial plan may involve a course of appointments, with temporary injection-site marks, redness, swelling, itching, dryness or flaking possible after treatment.

Under-eye hollowing and facial support

When dermal filler may be part of the discussion

Under-eye appearance can be influenced by hollowing, loss of cheek or mid-face support, skin quality, pigmentation, visible vessels and puffiness. Dermal filler may be discussed for selected concerns where a broader facial assessment suggests it could be appropriate.

What we assess

The whole eye area

Your registered nurse assesses the eye area in the context of cheek and mid-face support, skin quality, anatomy, previous treatments, medical history and your goals. This helps create a balanced plan rather than focusing on one feature in isolation.

Matching the treatment to the concern

When filler may be part of the plan

Dermal filler may be discussed when loss of support or volume contributes to the concern. Where pigmentation, puffiness, skin quality or laxity is the main factor, your practitioner may guide you toward a skin-quality, tightening or other suitable eye-area pathway.

Plamere for the eye area

A precise plasma pathway for selected skin concerns

Plamere may be discussed for selected upper-eyelid skin, crow’s feet, fine-line and crepey-skin concerns around the eye area after consultation.

What it may address

Upper-eye skin, crow’s feet and texture

Plamere may be discussed for selected upper-eyelid skin or hooded-eye skin concerns, fine lines and crow’s feet around the outer eye, and selected crepey-looking skin or texture concerns around the eye area.

How Plamere works

Controlled plasma treatment and skin renewal

Unlike a laser, Plamere generates plasma arcs which create controlled micro-injuries at the skin's surface. This triggers your skin's natural healing response, stimulating fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen and elastin, firming and lifting the treated area.

Common questions

Before booking eye treatment

How do Rejuran, HIFU, dermal filler and Plamere differ?

Rejuran is an injectable skin-quality treatment that may be discussed for selected texture, fine-line and elasticity concerns. Ultraformer MPT HIFU uses focused ultrasound and may be assessed for selected lifting, tightening or brow-area support goals. Dermal filler may be discussed for selected concerns involving volume change, under-eye hollowing or facial support. Plamere is a plasma-based treatment pathway that may be discussed for selected eye-area skin concerns. These pathways address different concerns, so a consultation determines whether one, a staged plan or another approach may be suitable.

What does each appointment involve?

Rejuran involves multiple small injections in the planned skin area. HIFU is needle-free: the practitioner maps the treatment zone and selects the appropriate device settings, cartridge depth and shot plan. Dermal filler is considered only after a whole-eye-area and facial-support assessment. Plamere uses controlled plasma treatment points on selected skin areas. Every pathway begins with assessment and informed consent.

What recovery should I allow for?

Rejuran and dermal filler can leave temporary injection-site marks, redness or swelling. HIFU may cause temporary tenderness, redness, swelling or altered sensation. Plamere has its own surface-healing and aftercare considerations. Recovery is individual, and your practitioner will explain treatment-specific aftercare before you proceed.

Can eye treatments be combined?

A staged plan may be considered when more than one concern is present. Rejuran may be discussed for selected skin-quality concerns, HIFU for selected firmness or brow-support goals, dermal filler for selected hollowing or facial-support concerns, and Plamere for selected eyelid-skin or eye-area texture concerns. Your practitioner confirms whether a combination is appropriate, along with the order, waiting interval and recovery plan after assessment.

Can HIFU be used around the eyes?

Selected brow and eye-area treatment plans may be considered after assessment. Suitability depends on anatomy, skin thickness, the exact treatment zone and the practitioner’s planned cartridge depth and shot coverage.

When might changes become noticeable?

HIFU changes may develop gradually as treated tissue responds. Rejuran treatment planning may involve a series of appointments. Dermal filler and Plamere plans are also individual, with timing, recovery and any maintenance discussed during consultation. No particular result or timeframe can be guaranteed.

What if the concern is hollowing, puffiness or pigmentation?

These concerns may have different causes from skin quality or laxity. A broader assessment is important because HIFU, Rejuran, dermal filler and Plamere each suit different concerns and are not automatically the right pathway for every eye-area presentation.

When may Plamere be discussed?

Plamere may be discussed for selected upper-eyelid skin, crow’s feet, fine-line and crepey-skin concerns around the eye area after consultation. Your practitioner will review the concern, relevant medical history, suitability, recovery considerations and available alternatives before any treatment is considered.

How much does eye treatment cost?

Pricing is discussed after your consultation and skin analysis, once your practitioner has confirmed the appropriate plan for your concerns. This includes whether HIFU, Rejuran, dermal filler, Plamere or a broader combined treatment pathway is the right choice, as well as the treatment scope, timing and cost.
