Urinary incontinence support Melbourne
A practical guide to bladder leakage, pelvic floor support and where TeslaChair may fit. Available at Avesa Health Lower Templestowe after symptom and suitability screening.
Intro offer Your first eligible TeslaChair session freeYour first eligible TeslaChair session is free
TeslaChair may support pelvic floor activation in selected clients, but bladder leakage is not one condition with one treatment. We first ask about the pattern of leakage and whether medical or pelvic floor physiotherapy assessment is needed.
First session free applies once per new Tesla client after suitability screening. TeslaChair does not replace medical diagnosis, supervised pelvic floor training or bladder care recommended by a healthcare professional.
The treatment plan should reflect the type and likely cause of symptoms.
What type of leakage are you experiencing?
This page does not diagnose urinary incontinence. It helps explain why proper assessment matters before choosing a pelvic floor chair.
Stress leakage
Leakage associated with coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting, running or jumping. Pelvic floor weakness can be one contributing factor.
Urgency leakage
A sudden strong need to urinate followed by leakage. Bladder training, medical assessment and other strategies may be more important than strengthening alone.
Mixed symptoms
A combination of stress and urgency leakage. The treatment plan may need to address more than one cause.

Support for selected pelvic floor weakness
TeslaChair uses Functional Magnetic Stimulation to create repeated pelvic floor contractions while you remain fully clothed and seated.
It may be considered where pelvic floor weakness contributes to stress-type leakage or poor muscle activation. It is less likely to be the complete answer when urgency, infection, prolapse, pain, neurological issues or another medical cause is involved.
- Seated and fully clothed treatment
- No internal applicator
- Adjustable stimulation intensity
- Used as support, not a guaranteed cure
TeslaChair is one possible part of treatment
Pelvic floor strength is important, but bladder symptoms can also involve coordination, habits, hormones, medication, infection, prolapse or other health conditions.
Medical assessment
Important for diagnosis, new or worsening symptoms, infection, pain, blood in the urine, neurological symptoms or difficulty emptying the bladder.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy
Provides individual assessment, supervised pelvic floor training, coordination work, bladder advice and treatment of associated pain or prolapse.
TeslaChair
May support pelvic floor muscle activation in selected clients, especially where weakness contributes to stress-type leakage.
Bladder and lifestyle strategies
Fluid habits, bladder training, bowel management, weight management and activity modification may form part of a broader plan.
Supervised pelvic floor muscle training is an important first-line option for many people with stress or mixed urinary incontinence. TeslaChair may complement that work, especially when muscle activation is difficult.
Do not rely on a pelvic floor chair for concerning symptoms
Contact an appropriate healthcare professional if you have any of the following:
- Blood in the urine
- Pain or burning when urinating
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Sudden onset or rapid worsening of leakage
- Difficulty starting, emptying or controlling the bladder
- New numbness, weakness or neurological symptoms
- Significant pelvic pain or prolapse symptoms
Your TeslaChair appointment
Before treatment
We discuss the leakage pattern, duration, health history, childbirth or prostate history, medications, implants and whether you have been assessed by a doctor or pelvic floor physiotherapist.
During treatment
You remain seated and fully clothed. Intensity is increased gradually to produce strong but tolerable contractions. You can resume normal activities afterwards in most cases.
Try the first session before committing

A starter course where repeated support is appropriate.
Ten sessions
Best-value structured course at $99 per session.
Urinary leakage questions
General information about leakage patterns, pelvic floor care and TeslaChair support.
Urinary incontinence means involuntary leakage of urine. Common patterns include stress leakage, urgency leakage and mixed symptoms. The cause should be considered before choosing treatment.
Stress urinary incontinence is leakage associated with increased abdominal pressure, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting, running or jumping. Pelvic floor weakness may contribute.
Urgency incontinence involves a sudden strong need to urinate followed by leakage. It may require bladder training, medical review or other management rather than pelvic floor stimulation alone.
TeslaChair may support pelvic floor muscle activation in selected clients, particularly where pelvic floor weakness contributes to stress-type leakage. It is not a substitute for diagnosis or first-line pelvic floor care.
No treatment should be presented as a guaranteed cure. Outcomes depend on the type and cause of leakage, pelvic floor function, health history and the wider management plan.
Yes. Supervised pelvic floor muscle training is an important first-line approach for many people with stress or mixed urinary incontinence. TeslaChair may be used as additional support where appropriate.
Medical review is recommended for new, severe, painful or unexplained symptoms, blood in the urine, recurrent infections, difficulty emptying the bladder, neurological symptoms, significant prolapse or recent pelvic surgery.
Selected men may be suitable, including some clients after prostate treatment once medically cleared. The cause of leakage should be assessed before starting.
It may be considered after appropriate postpartum clearance, but childbirth-related leakage can also require pelvic floor physiotherapy or medical assessment. See the postpartum pelvic floor and core support page for more detail.
You remain fully clothed and seated on the TeslaChair. Functional Magnetic Stimulation creates repeated pelvic floor contractions, with intensity adjusted to tolerance.
A course is generally more appropriate than one isolated session. Your first eligible session is free, after which a five-session, ten-session or maintenance plan may be recommended.
Your first eligible TeslaChair session is free. Standard pricing is $129 for one session, $599 for five sessions or $990 for ten sessions.
